Bi-Parting Sliding Gate with Aluminium Infill – Moynalvey, Meath

We installed a bi-parting sliding gate at a property in Moynalvey, Meath. The entrance comprises two steel-framed gate leaves that meet at the centre and travel in opposite directions when opening. Each leaf was fitted with vertically arranged 90 mm aluminium tongue-and-groove boards within the lower section of the frame. The upper sections remain open and are divided by vertical steel framing, while decorative end posts complete the gate construction. This configuration combines the structural frame of a steel gate with aluminium infill boards.

We automated both gate leaves using two 24 V Mercury motors, with one motor operating each side of the entrance. Our team configured reverse-on-obstacle operation so that gate movement reverses when resistance is detected during the operating cycle. We also fitted photocells on both the inside and outside of the entrance to monitor the gate’s travel area from each approach.

For access control, we installed a combined video intercom and keypad, allowing gate operation through the entrance control point. Remote controls were also provided for opening and closing the gates from within operating range. The completed installation brings together a centrally meeting bi-parting gate, dual-motor automation, safety equipment and practical access controls in one coordinated system.
