Double Swing Gates - Blackrock, Cork

We automated new black double swing gates at a new development in Blackrock, Cork. The driveway gates are installed between brick pillars, with a vertical slatted design across both leaves. Our work covered the automation of the gates, the safety equipment, and the systems used to manage entry and free exit.

We fitted heavy-duty hydraulic rams to power both leaves of the double swing gates. Controlled using inverter technology, the rams provide smooth operation throughout opening and closing. This motorised gate setup supports continuous cycles for repeated vehicle movements through the development entrance. Safety edges are fitted to all leading edges of the gates, alongside photocells and two flashing warning lights. The warning lights provide a visible indication of gate operation, complementing the safety edges and photocells. For access control, we installed a Tell GSM Pro system for managing all users of the development entrance. We paired this with a free-exit system using a BEA sensor with virtual loops, allowing automatic opening for vehicles leaving the development.

We completed the gate installation as a continuous-cycle commercial automation project with the hydraulic equipment, leading-edge safety protection, and access controls in place. The finished entrance combines managed entry with automated free exit through the double swing gates.
