Combined Aluminium Swing and Sliding Gate - Greystones, Co. Wicklow
For this residential property in Greystones, Co. Wicklow, the available entrance space and boundary layout required a more specialised solution than a standard single-action gate. We designed, manufactured and installed a bespoke aluminium gate combining both sliding and swing sections, allowing each part to operate within the property’s physical constraints. The custom laser-cut pattern gives the entrance a distinctive, carefully finished appearance while maintaining privacy and visibility where required. Aluminium also provides a rust-resistant, low-maintenance structure suited to long-term outdoor use in Irish weather conditions.
The combined configuration required a coordinated dual-motor automation system. We fitted a SEA 800 Mercury 24V sliding motor to control the sliding section, providing smooth and dependable movement during regular daily use. A field underground motor was installed for the swing section, keeping the operating mechanism discreet while delivering controlled opening and closing. Standard safety protocols were incorporated to support the reliable operation of both automated sections. For access control, we installed a video intercom system with an integrated keypad, allowing the homeowners to identify visitors, communicate remotely and provide authorised entry without opening the gate manually.
The completed installation provides a secure and practical automated entrance engineered specifically for the property’s layout. It combines bespoke aluminium fabrication, coordinated automation and convenient access control in one fully integrated system.
