Industrial Traffic Barrier System – Dundalk, Co. Louth

We installed a heavy-duty automated traffic barrier system at an industrial yard in Dundalk, Co. Louth. The installation features a robust barrier arm mounted on a durable control pedestal, providing a mechanically strong solution for managing commercial vehicular traffic. The system is designed for demanding industrial use where reliable and repeated operation is essential.

The barrier is operated by a SEA hydraulic automation system equipped with advanced inverter technology. Its hydraulic mechanism provides the controlled force required to raise and lower the barrier arm, while the inverter supports smooth movement and efficient high-cycle operation. We installed BEA EVO virtual loops to provide reliable, non-invasive vehicle detection without physical induction loops being cut into the ground. These virtual loops support the barrier’s safety functions and allow vehicles to exit the site seamlessly through free-exit activation. A GSM intercom was also integrated into the access control system, allowing authorised users to manage entry remotely through a cellular connection.

The completed installation provides a secure, fully automated industrial traffic control system combining hydraulic strength, efficient operation, vehicle detection and remote access management.
