Industrial Traffic Barrier System – Dundalk, Co. Louth

We installed a heavy-duty automated traffic barrier system at an industrial yard in Dundalk, Co. Louth. The installation features a barrier arm mounted on a control pedestal, providing an automated system for managing commercial vehicle access. This type of installation forms part of our work with boom gates for controlled entrances and exits at commercial and industrial sites.

The barrier is operated by a SEA hydraulic automation system equipped with inverter technology. Its hydraulic mechanism provides the controlled force required to raise and lower the barrier arm, while the inverter manages movement during repeated operation. We installed BEA EVO virtual loops to provide vehicle detection without physical induction loops being cut into the ground. These virtual loops support the barrier’s safety and free-exit functions, allowing vehicles to activate the exit automatically. Among the different gate types and access systems available for vehicle entrances, this configuration is specifically designed around automated barrier control. A GSM intercom was also integrated into the access-control system, allowing authorised users to manage entry remotely through a cellular connection.

The completed installation combines hydraulic barrier automation, vehicle detection, free-exit operation and remote access control within one industrial traffic-management system.

What was delivered:

Heavy-duty automated industrial traffic barrier and robust control pedestal

SEA hydraulic barrier automation with advanced inverter technology
